How the hiring works
We charge the full RRP for the Hit Air jacket as a deposit, as stated above, in advance. The hire period is 3 weeks and if, after 3 weeks, you decide that you want to return the air jacket, you will need to email us to get a returns number & a declaration form. The form needs to be completed, signed and sent back with the air jacket. Please email us if you have a fall during the hire period and you want to return the jacket as there is an additional servicing charge of £35 on top of the hire fee which covers the cost of sending the jacket back to Hit Air so they can service it.
Please note that you can’t put the Air Jacket in a washing machine to clean it!
After we have received the Hit Air jacket back and it is checked, we will issue you with a refund less the hire fee of £50 inc VAT plus the delivery charge £10 inc VAT.
The hire fee is more than for most of our products as the hirer isn’t able to send back the canister (due to courier restrictions so we have to factor a new canister into the cost of the hire. Please make sure that you also return the saddle strap & lanyard.
If you decide that you want to keep the Hi-Air Jacket you keep the one you have. If you decide you want a colour, red, navy or royal blue (only available in Small & Medium) you can upgrade to one of these but there will be an extra charge of £30 plus delivery. As long as the Hit Air jacket hasn’t inflated whilst you are trying it.
The jackets are sent out on a 2 day delivery. The hirer is responsible for the safe return of the Hit Air Jacket (MINUS the canister) & I would recommend Royal Mail Special Delivery or a similar insured signed for service.
Payment is either via PayPal or credit/debit card from the website/telephone or via bank transfer.
I am out competing regularly, so there is always the possibility to meet hirers at competitions for collections and returns to avoid delivery charges!
VERY IMPORTANT – IF YOU RETURN THE JACKET, DON’T SEND BACK THE CANISTER, MOST DELIVERY COMPANIES INC ROYAL MAIL DON’T ACCEPT GAS CANISTERS & THE MAIL IS SCANNED! THEY WOULD JUST THROW AWAY THE ITEM! YOU WOULDN’T BE COVERED FOR THE LOSS AS YOU HADNT ADMITTED TO THE CANISTER BEING IN THE PARCEL!!
