Design & Fitting

The ICE-VIBE boots are portable rechargeable vibrating boots that help to boost circulation in horse's legs by creating a massage effect.

They combine the effects off cooling and massage therapy to effectively treat strains, ligament and tendon damage.

The massage effect helps to stimulate the lymph system to remove soreness and swelling as well as improving circulation.

Everyday wear and tear on joints can be managed with daily use of the boots and rehabilitation through injury can be achieved more effectively.

LEVEL 1 PREPARE – 10 MINUTES VIBRATION WITHOUT COLD PACKS

Using the boots before you ride can assist you to prepare your horses legs for exercise in the stable, they do this by creating a massaging effect increasing blood flow to the tendons and ligaments making them more elastic, which can help reduce the risk of injury. The massaging effect also helps to stimulate the lymph system similar to exercise to help reduce existing inflammation.

LEVEL 2 TREATMENT – 20 MINUTES VIBRATION WITH COLD PACKS

Tendons do not return to previous temperatures as quickly as muscles when cooled as they don't have the same blood supply or metabolism therefore making the legs very cold for long periods of time may actually cause an inflammatory response. The boots are designed to cool the tissue via the cold packs and slow down the blood flow to reduce inflammation but when combined with massage the blood flow is not completely restricted, this allows oxygen to be maintained to tired and damaged tissue allowing for a better recovery.

LEVEL 3 REPAIR – 20 MINUTES VIBRATION WITH COLD PACKS

Tendon problems are often the result of a build-up of damage. By using the ICE-VIBE boots regularly you can help stimulate blood flow to your horse’s legs created by the massaging effect whilst they are standing in a stable.

When an area is healing scar tissue is formed, the movement created by the vibration and massage helps to break down adhesions and scar tissue whilst increasing blood flow to assist healing.

USER GUIDE
  • Make sure the vibration panels are in the boots flat side to the horse's leg.

  • Although you can move the panel to different pockets in the boots the best place to use the panel for maintenance or rehabilitation is in the pocket that sits at the back of the tendon.

  • The extra full cold packs have a top and bottom as marked on the cold pack. They have two splits that sit over the front of the fetlock. If the slits are not open you can open with scissors on the two thickened lines that are over the front of the fetlock joints.

  • When using hock or knee boots the panel goes into the pocket battery first, so the on/off mark is in line with the on/off mark on the boot.

  • Setting 2 is your main setting when being used daily.

  • The most effective way to use your boots at an event is to wait until the legs have cooled down, then use on setting 2 with the cold packs, the reason for this is that when your horse is very hot and the blood is pumping around the horses body in large volumes the vibration is not required until the legs have cooled off to help flush out any soreness and swelling.
